Freddy I won't tell who it was that cut all of your long hair off. Ah, Snakefinger at the Metroplex, Snakefinger almost metal and what a show that was. And of course The Stranglers at 688 probably one of the best two nights of the clubs history. As a member of seminal noise combo - AT Rest and the other being Mac McNeilly, we got started because both of those great clubs. And I'm raiding the vault. http://cdbaby.com/all/brianbath http://atrest.fuzz.com "I'm not important enough for you to know me." Brian Bath

Metroplex Sound guy. This is going to be great! 20 years later to go back and mix some of these bands again. It was great being part of a legend in Atlanta music. This will be the most fun thing I've done in years in production. Cant' wait to see the "Ratheads" and a lot of bandmembers from the old days.

I was too young to catch any of that time period but I do love some punk. Hate to throw the plug out there but I'm in a local band called apob (myspace.com/apobmusic) and we're trying to get some punk back out there in the ga scene. Not so much sucessful so far. ha.

Thanks to Steve for giving me my first real production job as sound engineer for 688.After 30 years in the production industry and working for most of the bands that have influenced me I had lost the fun it use to be,Learning about this reunion has brought it back.Long live 688.

I workded for Paul, down at the 'Plex, for about 2 years! Every band, from the Fuck-Ups to The Dead Kennedys, was a unique experience. But I have to say that the night that Johnny Thunders played, (with the Georgia Satellites opening) ... that was my favorite show. Thanks Paul, for bringing us the Metroplex! And thanks to Steve too! I spent many a night in a mindless stupor down at 688 as well! I loved every minute of it!

I went to the Metroplex in the 80's to watch hardcore and metal bands. I couldn't believe I saw Lemmie from Motorhead playing a pinball/videogame among all of us kids. He was so old and a pioneer of metal. We were lucky to have a place to go that was real and not commercialized.

I played there several times with the Nobz, Temptress and several other 80's highlights - always a blast and never too predictable. Charles Bisquit Band was one of my favs. Whazzup to friends, fans and othes- 688 was absolutely one of the best!

So many good memories, the Metroplex meant a lot to all of us who looked at it as the focal point of our scene during the 80s. I occasionally drive by the old haunt and although it is long gone I still feel the need to check in from time to time. To all my friends, yeah Ralph I haven't forgotten, let me remind us all of the immortal words of Fred Kennedy "Relax, enjoy the ride".

As Felix said, "Spit on a burning match!!". The Metroplex was my home away from home. It will be big fun toasting to old glory and the best music I can remember!!

I remember one night at 688 the Butthole Surfers were playing. Gibby poured lighter fluid all over the cymbals and was beating them. The flames were crawling across the cieling. It was insanity. Bad Brains at the Metroplex was hands down the best live show I've ever seen! Stage diving off the balcony. There will never be another club like that. Good times.

I practically lived at 688 for the entirety of its life - I worked the door, & when I wasn't working I was there partying and checking out the bands with friends. I wouldn't miss this for the world!

688 was the best. I played there with 2 bands, Knute Baroot & Vicious Fish. Love the 5 gallon bucket of beers! I will try to be there!
